DA integra strange starting issue
Hello, I have a 1990 teg that would not start this morning. When i turned the key, all my electrical worked (lights, seat belts, etc) but the car would not turn over. When i turned the key to the start position, i could hear a faint mechanical whirring noise, and a click but nothing else. I though i might have a dead battery, so i put my friends battery in to see if it would start, and this is when the strangeness started. With the new battery in, and even after i put mine back in, i get no electrical to the car. Lights dont come on, belts dont move as they should, dash lights dont come on. The only thing that works is my hazard lights. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated, and sorry if i missed it in the archives, a link would be great.
try jumping it. Sounds like your battery is to low to start it. if it starts once you jump it then test the alternator with a multimeter to ensure its reading above 13 volts.
i had the same problem...
i just changed my spark plug and wires with NGKs.
my mechanic who changed them out told me that the gasket in the engine was leaking oil.
when he pulled my old spark plugs they were dripping oil...
i am not quite sure if this is the remedy, but ive had many days late to work for the same problem you had.
after changing the wires and plugs, i have not had a problem starting my car.

Sounds like a main power or ground connection issue.
I would start by checking/redoing the main grounds, remove the batt. and batt. "box" to access the batt. to chassis ground, remove the ground and clean both the cable terminal and the contact surface and reconnect, fallow the ground cable to the engine ground point and do the same, reinstall the batt. and connect it up and try starting the engine.
If problem still exists do the same with the main power connections, [remove/clean/reconnect], batt. pos.(+), batt. to starter, batt. to engine bay fuse box, alt. charge line at alt. and engine bay fuse box, all the main fuses, [fuses held in place with screws. 94

Well, after disconnecting, cleaning, and reconnecting all cables connected to the battery, I decided to finally drop $30 to get a multimeter, and found (surprise) a bad battery fuse. replaced it and she started right up. Thanks guys.
