Not sure what happened here. I took the axles out and put new boots on them, did a brake upgrade and put on a tracking bar. I took the car for a spin and luckily I was only a block home cause I had to push it back.
It feels like it goes in gear and when I get on the gas the revs go up as does the speedo but that car doesn't move. Did I break something when I put the stuff back in?

are you sure you put your axles back in? if the speedo is going up then the diff is spinning so the problem has to be between the diff and wheels...

It's sitting flush with the tranny and the half shaft but I will take them out when I get home and reinstall. Hope that is it.

It's not the axles, re did them today. Could it be that the clutch isn't dis-engaging and not letting go? Looks like it's time to pop off the tranny.

It was the axles!! The son of a bitch that put them back together didn't do it right, the only thing holding the shaft to the axle on the outer side on the passenger side was the boot, he didn't fully seat the C clip in place.
Went to Kragens and got a set of brand new axles, not remanned, and slapped them on. Hopefully no more problems.

I also have a similiar problem. On my way home the other day I was accelerating from a stop sign when I heard a pop noise and the car would no longer accelerate. I got it towed home and saw nothing obvious (no oil leaking, nothing shattered externally.). It will shift into all gears and makes no abnormal noises, tack and speedo show a reading but the vehicle will not move.
Let me say upfront that I am not familiar with front wheel vehicles at all. So far I have removed the axles, removed the transmisiion and have removed the clutch. I do not see anything that looks out of place. The drivers side shaft will slip out of the carrier (if thats the proper terminology) closest to the tranny while still in the boot.
I stuck the axles back into the tranny and spun the main shaft and everything apperers to be normal. At this point I cant figure out what to check for next. I would appreciate any suggestions, thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies. When I pulled the drivers side axle I did notice that the ring you spoke of had come off the axle and was still in the transmission housing. I dug it out with a pick. Since I have went this far I'll go ahead and stick a new clutch and flywheel in and see what happens. I'll report back with my results.
Okay so my clutch went, it was slipping so I installed a new clutch. While installing the new clutch I noticed a crack in the casing of my transmission. I bought a new transmission and installed, new fluid and blah blah blah. Okay so now I realized I damaged the ends of the axles and can't get the bits back on so boom, bought new axles and installed. I go for a test drive and I put it in reverse ( after bleeding click and brakes of course) it goes in fine and I let the clutch out. It starts backing up then I hear a pop and I hear something just spinning. Like a whirring sound with a meta contact sound with it and my car will not move. The RPMs go up, speedometer goes up, but car will not move. Everything goes into gear fine. I have a 2002 Honda EP3 civic SI. Does anyone know what it could be? I took the tires back off and spun the axles by hand and the half shaft turns with axle, there is resistance when I turn it by hand. The driver side I turn and it's easier to turn without much resistance. These are brand new parts I put in. Not re manufactured. Any ideas?
I've checked the axles and the passenger side half shaft is defiantly in there. I cannot pull it out without prying it out. The drivers side I can pull out easily but it will not seat. Do I need to open that ring at the beginning of the shaft? I understand these must sound like dumb questions but it's been 4 weeks doing this with no vehicle in between and spending 1500$ in parts and I'm severly frustrated
Is the axle seating all the way into the transmission? Pictures would help here. Push the axle all the way in and take a picture of the where the cup meets the trans casing. The flat part of the cup should be almost touching the seal. If you have a gap then you aren't actually installing it all the way. Compare it to the passenger side.
Sometimes you have to really slam it in there or even turn the axle / differential some to get it to line up properly. As many axles as I have replaced, I have never had a clip not hold if something wasn't damaged, but it's not impossible I guess. At this point though, you could have messed up some splines due to how it popped out. Pictures first though...
