Default Need your help in fixing my 01 F4i

Hey guys, I recently got a 2001 F4i and began working on it. Unfortunately I made a huge newbie mistake (I've only been riding 250's up to this point and now moved on up to the 600cc world) and installed the battery backwards. I know I blew a fuse somewhere most likely because the dash doesn't come on, the lights don't work...nothing works. I'll have to check in the morning. I was wondering though what other things I could have messed up on the bike that I should check? And if you own this bike, where exactly are all the fuses and of course the main fuse located? Thanks again and flame away, I just want to get her fixed to get some riding time.

Well I checked the fuses this morning. As far as I know, there is a black fuse box which has 6 10 amp fuses. None of them were blown. There is also a 20 amp fuse on the side of that box which is in a white rectangular box, but it was not blown either. Not too far from there, there is a 30 amp fuse which is by itself, which I assume is the main? That fuse was not blown either. My question is, are these all the fuses or are there more? If not, then what do you suggest that I check next? Thanks again.

damn bro, you could have honestly screwed up any of about 5 to 10 things by doing this. basically anything dealing with your electrical system could be screwed up.....ecu, any linkage to and from the ecu, stator/alternator, fuse linkage, the battery itself, etc etc. the only way you're gonna know for sure is to take it to honda, as i wouldnt trust a side shop with something like this.

prepare for a new *******, cheers

Did you test each fuse or just look at the fuses with your eyes? how do you know none of them are blown?

Is the battery still good? have you tried connect the terminals correctly to a good (tested) 12v battery?

Thanks for the response guys, I appreciate it. A, you have a good point. There was a fuse that I forgot to check and sure enough, it was blown. Put a new fuse in and now I have power
