Default Bushings

Ok, where to start..
I need to either match up bushings (anyone around here that can help me out if I give dimensions?)
or
make my own.

The options for my own seem to be either Delrin or spherical. But I have a question on the sphericals, I see only a very limited range of sizes all with quite large bores. I'm guessing I will have to get a receiver, mill down the OD, insert the spherical, then.. ? Milling a spacer to fit the bore and the bolt tightly seems like a bad idea, but that is the only option correct?

Which is more brutal?
For the price, is delrin on the inner and outer LCA bushing worth doing? Arm twist is not an issue, or a very small one I believe.

Is this a street car?

My friend was using delrin for a little while, and they were far to harsh to be using on the street.
He used them in the front and rear LCA's, and I think also in the UCA's, and toe arms...

Well, turns out my inners match 88-91's. So I could use hardrace, if those are still attainable. I would prefer the rubber at the shock and stiff at the crossmember as I am attempting to not do hard bushing on both, but it really comes down to whatever I can make work.
It will be street legal, but far from a daily thing. I simply can't afford to a truck/trailer.

Take a look at pic hardrubber. At thmotorsports they are like 230ish shipped, and they have a coupon type thing untill the 28th for 3% off.

You could do a mixture of hard rubber and sphericals?

hehe 3%.
But ya, I'd like to, only I need someone that can compare my bushings dimensions. Everyone is civic, civic, civic, so I'm on my own.

$225, shipped haha. I'll take any discount I can get.

You may have better luck posting in the prelude forum. I had a 83, and the only thing I can tell you is I hated it.

an 83 means it was carbed. I hated them too. Mine was carbed and i got rid of them and put in a fuel injected 89 accord motor. 120hp was a big diff.
Now it has a B20vtec.

We have a fairly active 2gen forum on pp, but still not everything has been done/attempted.

yep, it had dual carbs, stunk like fuel. The thing drank oil like a fish, and all I really did was let the thing idle. Drove it like twice, if that..

have you considerded being a ginny pig? Take measurments, and contact delrin, or other makers of bushings and see what they can help you with?

Oh, Don't give up!

I think if you were to just go with delrin bushings, you could just trim them untill the fit perfectly?

I don't remember exactly how my friend cut them, but I remember it was a pain in the ***!

cutting them isn't so bad but they are quite stiff. they are a bit of a last resort for me.

delrin isnt a brand, i think thats what your getting at. Its a plastic type material that he would machine down to the size he would need.

have you thought about makin your own spherical?

I know what it is, but i didn't know it wasn't a brand.

My friend used them for about a month, I think. He took them out due to just how stiff they really are.

Have you thought about poly bushings?

too many stories of poly's crushing/splitting, but my upper arms and the rear lower outer have the T shaped bushing so polys will be my only choice.
