Ok so i have a JDM B16a SiR2 in a eg. It has a aem intake, type r intake manifold, skunk2 stage 1 cams, usdm type r exhaust manifold, 2.5in R sR catback and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

My question is which throttle body should i get Skunk2 or Blox? Which is better? and i was thinking 68mm.

Any thoughts and comments are appreciated!

 

Both are good, now just comes down to your preference and price you are willing to pay

 

im a senior in high school. id like the skunk2 one but i did find a blox for like 135.. does that sound right?

I wouldn't buy Blox ANYTHING. They are cheap, but none of their products are any good. They're rip-offs of Skunk2 and other companies, and they put their huge ugly logo on everything.

I'd save up a little more and get something from a reputable company instead; then you don't have to be embarassed about your parts.

Edelbrock makes one that I have and I like it. It's a 65 MM though, although they do make a 68 MM version.

 

i found a 70mm omni for cheap. a friend said he has a friend running it on a h22 and he loves it... anyone got any info on a omni?

also. go find your pr3 manifold and put it back on.

Omni-power makes good stuff. I wouldn't trust anything from blox except maybe a vtec solenoid cover or a shift ****

 

Why do you want a 68mm throttle body?

Since you're in high school, I assume this is a daily-driven car.

 

Skunk2

 

A throttle body is not going to net you any more power. They dont make much of a difference on NA cars usually, but unless you bore your intake manifold plenum, it wont even be able to flow its size in air because the plenum will be smaller. Making it have basically no effect at all.

Also Blox TB is the same as SK2 for about half the price. Half the crap SK2 makes is a complete ripoff. I have a blox 68mm TB on my turbo D16. Its great. But my plenum is bored to make it be able to flow properly.

 

what about a professional products one? i got a 68mm on my b16, impressed at the quality and has never given me issues.

 

it still wont do anything unless your plenum is bored.

 

did a simple port matching with a cheap drimmel. Improved throttle response was nice but getting rid of that damn FITV was my main concern

 

If price is not an issue get the 70mm skunk2 way better quality!

 

i ended up getting the 70mm omni power and i was planning to port match and get the whole IM ported. thanks for the help and opinions guys. I also got my pwjdm whale ***** in the mail.

 

make sure you get a port match on the intake manifold plenum

 

I have a Blox 70mm throttle body and I love it. Like stated before you need to port match the intake manifold plenum to match the size throttle body but that goes for which ever throttle body you buy. For half the price of the skunk2 it was worth it to me. It left me a little more cash to be able spend on other parts which was a plus. If you purchased a blox or skunk2 throttle body you wouldnt see much if any hp gains by choosing one over the other.

Good choice by using the Hondata IM gasket. For $40-$60 its a cheap 1-2hp increase.

 

so i have read im hoping to just gain a bit of power with the gasket, IM port match, 70mm TB and whale *****. Im also looking into some headers. i already have skunk2 stage 1 cams and a type r intake mani. currently running a usdm type r exhaust manifold.
