My 1999 Honda Accord check engine light (EGR code) is on, preventing re-regisering or licensing. The 99-085 service bulletin/recall says that it qualifies per VIN to a (possible) goodwill consideration. Even though we recieved a letter back in 2004 my local dealer's service writer says that this VIN does not apply; 1HGCG1658XA029530.

Is this the case?

If not I will do the repair.........
The service bulletin has easy to follow directions for me but after this, does it apply to my vehicle?

Not likely, but it can't hurt to call your local dealership to find out if they will do it.

This is a really common repair, if your cel is on for a egr low flow/lift code then this will fix your problem.
