My 2000 gsr stranded me yesterday when it refused to start up. Drove the damn thing to get my laundry and to get food, went in and ate and came back out to leave and it wouldnt start. It was cranking but just wouldnt fire. I heard some kind of loud clunking noise or something from around the middle of the car like where the fuel pump would be. I havent looked at the spark plugs lately. Any ideas?

 

Check for fuel and spark

 

how can i check if its getting gas?

 

Fuel pressure gauge or crank it over a few times and pull out your spark plugs. Unburnt fuel will still be visible.

You can't really trouble shoot something that isn't there anymore. It could possibly be a main relay issue. Take it out and inspect it.

 

That was my thought when trying to remove the rear struts from mine. Damn those lca bolts. Lol

Does sound like the main relay may be on its way out.

How long has it been since you've done a cap and rotor?

When was the last time the plugs were changed along with the plug wires?

Make sure you dont have water under your back seat. There is a large connector that can get f'ed up when exposed to water for extended periods of time.
