i was wondering if any of you guys that own Recaro SRD's, Bride's, Sparco's or whatever brand racing seats you got, do yall use some kind of fabric restoration like scotch guard to protect them from stains or whatever? I recently bought some brand newSRD's and i dont want it to get fucked up from stains and dirt, and i was wondering if scotch guard will mess up the fabric, if it does, do yall recommend any type of fabric guard?

 

anyone? someone has to have done something with their seats to protect them.

 

i have jdm red recaros and they stain easily...so i went to a leather specialty place at the mall...i think it was Wilson's Leather...they had a suede cleaning kit and a waterproofer/stain protector. i sprayed it all over the suede. works great.

 

Good deal, thanx. Will that work for non-suade material because my SRD's arent suade, dont know the fabric type but its not suade.

 

whenever you're spraying anything onto cloth, you ALWAYS have to do a test spray on a small area to check for discoloration etc. it should be ok to use an upholstry cleaner on the SRD's. if you want.you should also get a 3M scotch gaurd waterproofer for the seats.

 

I think I used the 3M scotch guard on my SRD. I can't remember, I know I did the rest of the interior with the 3M stuff. Just remember to test in a small spot first.
