Anyone know how to bypass egr on 94 accord
I searched and couldnt find anything. I blocked off my egr valve on my 94 accord. I wanted to know if there is a way i can wire it up so the cel light doesnt come on? I'm not going to change ecu's.
What was the main reason for doing this in the first place?
The EGR is not just an emissions device. It also stops the engine from "knocking" or "pinging" during hard acceleration and heavy engine load by working in conjunction with the knock sensor. Unless your engine is heavily modified and uses an aftermarket computer, there is no reason to remove this.

Removing your EGR valve will do nothing but increase you NOX emissions and cause your engine to run hotter.
Keep in mind, that these engines were designed to work with their emissions equipment, and the basemaps and such in the engine control unit are programmed accordingly. Removing your emissions equipment on a stock motor is both somewhat pointless (you may see minimal gains) and irresponsible. People have to breath that air you know.

The EGR lift sensor is a signal to ground circuit. It is possible to make the Check Engine Light go out permanently.
Remove the valve and block the port, as you already have. Find the 5 volt reference wire and apply positive 12 volts. The idea is that you are pushing electrons the opposite direction and canceling the 5 volt short which tells the ECU that the valve is working. You can use anything, the battery works fine. This will simulate the lift sensor and make the Check Engine Light go out.
