Ok, so i've searched on this for days and have found so many different answers that my eyeballs are falling out.
I had a 91 CRX, wrecked it, bought an 89 with no dash, dash harness, or cluster, and now i'm swapping it all over. When I went to throw the 91 dash harness in I noticed that the main male plug that plugs into the female plug right above the fuse box was larger...I learned that some trims have different plugs and wiring. So my question is, can I de-pin the female plug in the 89, pin those wires into the female counterpart for the 91 harness and be ok? Do the wire colors match between the years? Go to the correct spots? I can't seem to find an 89 harness with the correct plug so i'm just trying to use what I have. So, anyone? Thanks in advance.

So after thinking about this...Can't I just de-pin the 11 pin connector in the 89 and pin those wires into the 15 pin female connector so I can use the 91 harness? And then just rewire the hazard? That's the only difference I have found so far is the hazard. Theoretically, that sounds like it should work fine...Let me know if i'm just a retard and need to stop thinking. lol
just swap the entire dash harness from your car onto the new dash and all your problems are solved. Dont depin anything. take out 4 or 5 screws and bam done. Its stupid simple
My bad, sorry i didnt read that you didnt have the harness...fail for me

Well, see the 91 dash harness wont plug in to the main harness in the 89. The only options I have are to A; Buy a new 89 harness, or B; Just depin and pin the 91 to work. And option B is free. haha
