Default Oil leak on left side of engine?? Please help!

Well I recently bought a 2006 Honda civic and I was reading over the notes and maintenance records from the previous owner and theres an inspection that reads" oil leak from the left side of the engine". When I read that it got me pretty concerned. I don't want troubles and this was noticed only 2,000 miles ago. What can leak oil on the left side of the engine? From worst case scenario to least worse? Maybe an o-ring or something? Please leave your thoughts and comments, need to easy my mind forreal! I don't want no engine problems! Thanks in advance!

Is the cam seal that black plug?

If not, how can I access to it?

If there is a DIY to this, what is the search phrase? cam seal on google only talks about the one located on the front side of engine.

Yes, it's the black plug. It's there because the same cylinder head was used with a distributor on a previous model. That's where it was mounted. It just gets worn and old overtime and looses it's sealing ability. I don't think a new seal would cost very much at a dealership, and you could probably find a how to on youtube.

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my Honda Civic 2003. I cannot figure out where it has an oil leak. Few moths ago I changed the gasket on V-Tec solenoid valve. I thought that the oil was coming from there but no. Yesterday I replaced the cam seal plug, by using some gasket silicone. This morning, after starting the car and running around 5 minutes I checked if there is any oil on the front of the engine and noticed some oil flow. I still went to work, regardless. I don't know if it is new oil or just some oil that left under the cap. There was no oil spilled during the plug change as I put some cloth under. Here is the picture attached of the cam seal before it replacing. I am desperate.
