Anbody know of any available track time at VIR prior to the ECHC weekend (Oct. 12-13)?

I am considering doing touring laps (my street CRX?) with the Mazda folks this coming weekend (though it will be the Full Course instead of the North Course).

Anybody with tips or info on the racing line?

I'll be at VIR this weekend instructing.... I'd be happy to take you around on hot laps. There is also a PCA event on Monday Oct 7th. That's also Full, but it ought to be fun. The event is there the entire weekend, but I don't know much about it.

It's a slow, low-res video of a lap, from my first time at VIR-N 2 years ago (when I was a rookie & the car was stock). Karl Shultz was riding shotgun as my "instructor".

Also, http://www.virclub.com/pages/track_sch.htm shows most of the scheduled VIR events. Looks like you would need to be a Motorcycle racer to see the north course in the next 2 weeks... Except, what's this? "Oct 1 - Keith Code California Superbike". You're name is Keith, right? They should let you right in!

 

Perhaps if you promised to stay only on 2 wheels, they'd let you run?

A have a friend from a multiple RX-7 family that should be running there all weekend.

Although I have been known to drive CRXs (and other Hondas) on 3 wheels once or twice, I doubt I can pass mine off as a motorcycle...

 

There should be other video out there from last year's events in Oct and Nov. I remember watching a few. One from Warren, I think. Do a search in the archives and you might uncover something.

From the full course, you can "use" 1 through the snake. Then the last part of Roller Coaster, Hogpin, and the front straight.
