Icon2 2000 Accord towing 4x4x8 trailer from CO to FL

I am looking into purchasing a Honda Accord between 1999 and 2001. I noticed that the towing max is 1000 lbs. I will be moving from Denver to Tampa (in late August) and would like to rent a 4'x4'x8' Uhaul trailer to tow with my clothes and other light weight belongings. I had a couple questions, as I have never towed before. Will a 4 cylinder be able to do this job? Would an manual or automatic transmission work better? Should I get a tranny cooler (and if so, how much do they cost to install)? If I need a tranny cooler, is it just required for automatics, or manuals too?
Just kinda nervous about this move
This will be the most I have ever spent on a car and I don't feel like destroying it 6 months in by trying to tow something that shouldn't have been towed. Thanks!

yeah, you might wanna look at some accord prices in FL, might be alot cheaper. when I lived in WA I flew to florida to buy a civic. I drove it home and a few months later I got T-boned and it was totalled. I only paid 3500 for it and without a fight the insurance company cut me a check for 6300. I have bought an integra on the east coast before as well because of the good price. drove it home, kept it a while and sold it for 1200 more than I paid.
