WTF!!!!! idk wats going on. cleared it and code for knock sensor came on again. plugged in chipped p28 and my code 9 for No 1 cylinder position was still on. I NEED HELP. was told by mech i have sum bent valves. i still need to check compression in all cylinders. my car stutters as i give it gas. only does this wen i first press the gas. n e help will b great. all this is going on with my new dizzy FYI. oh yea and my damn rpm isnt working. It did before. it works if i bypass from dizzy but not by itself.

You need to line the one ,ark on crank pulley by itself up with the pointer. The one that looks white in the photo. It needs to be exact before you can look at cam gears

Line it up to the white notch on the crank pulley(TDC) then look at your cam gears and make sure that they horizontal lines marked on both cam gears line up.

Timing looks spot on!

So that can be eliminated.

Then you need to run the obd1 ecu, since the obd2 ecu will have a few more sensors it will be looking for that the obd1 harness does not support which will throw a CEL.

You can use the obd2 harness for an obd1 motor. You just need an obd2 oil pump since all obd2 have the CFK sensor and obd2 injectors/distributor/alternator.

If you run an obd1 ecu then you don't need to worry about the CFK sensor.

Edit: I meant oil pump not water pump.

Yes you need to remove the timing belt to access the pump.

I am thinking your main harness in your engine bay could possibly be your problem. It may have cracks or some **** wrong with it but your best route is to swap them out to see if it resolves your issue.

I'm not from Cali so I wouldn't know if it will affect smog. I just know that CA is a PITA about smog. ahaha

Swapping the harness out is simple. Might be a PITA to get some connectors off but overall simple. Goodluck
