Default B16 or GSR Tranny/ Hydro or Cable

Hello! Im extremely confused!! Im about to pick up a B16 longblock and Im going to be looking for a tranny. I've been reading about hydro vs cable.. And Im not sure I understand the functional differences in the 2.

In addition, im reading the comparisons of running an si tranny vs a gsr tranny. I heard the gears are longer in the GSR vs the B16 which will fly thru gears faster... That gas mileage will be better with a GSR tranny then B16.. ect ect.. Any information and feedback/experiences will help!!

main difference between a hydro and cable is the way the clutch fork are being engaged hydro uses a slave cylinder and cable is exactly that a cable. to determin whats might be easier is gonna be based on ur car and yr and if was stick or auto. and for b16 and gsr they havew same final drive but yes the b16 has closer gears but on the highway at 75-80 they run the same rpms. if ur swap a b16 motor use the b16 trans ur gonna need it, not knockin a b16 but thats like using an ls trans on a type r like will be slow. the b16 to be effective needs that type of trans.
