the engine is surprisingly clean... and for being imported from JDM land, yes, that valve cover is clean as hell. i have seen much much worse. look at how shiny and greased up the intake hose is! the heatshield is in tact, etc. it's in great cond.!

maybe because he's got a new motor to play with, but i would never diss the d16a6.

but it must be nice to have a b16a. i wish i had one.

two things, first the enigine stamp looks like it says b18a to me, is it a b16a or a b16 head on a b18a block?
second the transmission sticker next to the engine stamp starts with y1. I presume this means that the tranny is a y1 tranny. My b16a came out of a xsi and has a y1/j1 tranny (atleast i think) but the sticker says S1. I know that the S1's came with the 90-93 integra b18a's so i am puzzled. I really doubt I have a S1 because my 5th gear is ridiculously high. (4900 rpms @80mph). some one help me please!

Incubus: it does say b16a, the 6 is just really round.

I believe the integra xsi/rsi were equipped with either the j1 or s1 tranny. There is also a usdm s1 tranny that is different from the jdm. From what you are revving in 5th, it's obvious you have the jdm s1 tranny (as you should). Did you use the 90-93 teg axles with it? The jdm s1 is notorious for having a very highway-unfriendly gearing.

Make sure you dont toss that D series tranny quite yet........It looks to me like you got the B16 that came out of the JDM CRX with the Y1 tranny. You will need to take the mechanical speedometer assembly out of your old D series tranny and put it in your electronic equipped speedometer Y1 tranny.

Looks like yours came with a downpipe also. GOOD. I can't tell if you got a Intermediate shaft also. Im still waiting for HondaMotorsOnline to send me a downpipe and Intermediate shaft that was missing on one of the packages I ordered in my last batch from them.

Don't worry about the cut JDM harness. ( I see you took a pic of it ) You always use the original harness of the U.S. engine that came out of the car and use the necessary JDM plugs and wires for the Vtec, Knock, Vtec Pressure, and 2nd O2 sensor.

Good Luck and enjoy your newfound JDM Power!!!!
