stripped bolt/any other way to get trans fluid in?
bought new honda trans fluid .... so i tried to chage the fluid in my 5 speed...when i relized the top bolt is completely stripped. the bottom bolt (drain plug ),came loose just fine.but the top bolt you loosen do add new fluid is stripped ... any ideas i got a slight grind in second and ...really want to get the new fluid in . is there any other way to put fluid in besides the top bolt. i just bought the car so i have no idea where thr fluid level is!
How much access do you have to the top bolt? If theres enough room, you could try hammering a smaller socket onto the bolt head, or an easy-out.
What car do you have, just by going with your signature

Fill it through the reverse sensor hole. Much easier than trying to fill through the side (IMHO), and trying to fill it through the speed sensor at the very back is a lot of unneeded work. So yeah, you have the two above alternatives if you can't use the actual fill hole.
thanks alot everyone ..thought i was dead in the water.lol what is vss hole ? speed sensor ? and i need to locate it.

X2 for the speed sensor.
Its located on the back on the trans right above the passanger axle on the top of the case. One bolt and its out. Make you you take the bolt out that mounts to the trans. If its hard to pull out turn it around a few times.
Also as stated above you could fill through the vent tube but its a slow process especially of your fluid is cold.
