Will extended top-hats drop your car?
hey whats up everyone
like the title says Will extended top-hats drop your car?.
i have some custom made extended top-hats 1-1/2in Front and 2in on the back
i did the install and everything and as i turn the car up and try to go forward my crank pulley started to scrape the cross-member tie rod. but it happen when i got the car down on the floor because i had the 2 front tires on a piece of 2x4 wood. it never did that, oh and i have the the stock struts with cut springs.

Nope, only thing that affects ride height is the distance of the spring perch from the shock tower (all else including springs being equal). Extended top hats do not change the distance of the spring perch from the shock tower.
what else could it be? i know that you guys say no, cuz probably you guys have used the ext top-hats before, but its my first time using them and like u said (P_GSR94). I know that its just helps the shock/strut travel but it did lower my car about 1 in. I'm running a B17 and if i'm sitting on the car it will literally rub. (crank pulley/tie rod) not being an A-hole about what gonna say but, I'm no Honda Tech but it did lower my car! will getting a CTR crank pulley solve my problem? I'm using old Place Racing mounts. I like it how it is right now, but i cant drive it like that.

what are you talking about your crank pulley and tie rod rubbing? What/where are they rubbing? Suspension height has nothing to do with the crank pulley interfering with the chassis.
There is no aspect of your suspension that would make sense for an extended top hat to lower your car. Unless your car was already on its bumpstops or your shock rod was bottomed out.
You didn't change the perch/shock tower distance by adding an extended top hat. Even if your shock rod was further up it wouldn't effect the spring's length.

he means the radius rod, not the steering tie rod.
changing the max stroke length can affect ride height, but it depends on the spring and preload and can actually RAISE ride height. but honestly you having cut springs complicates it and is probably the issue, regardless of the extended top hats.

Yea, actaully several of them. My friend's were 2 of them, however, we only tried the CTR crank pulley. That alone did the trick.
There were a couple of people on H-T that said mounts work in some cases, I personaly have no experience with that.

yeah i think it was sitting on the bumps-tops, would adding some eBay coilovers sleeves with the stock cut springs solve this problem for a bit?. planning on buying suspension sometime in feb.
