How many kelvins do the stock S2000 HID's produce? Is it 4300k or 6000k? Thanks.

As far as I'm aware, all OEM HID headlamp systems are 4100K-4300K color temperature.

4300k but IIRC there's 2 different bulbs. The 85122 and the 85122+. The 85122+ puts out more lumens IIRC.

Stock is 4300k. They should be Phillips 85122
These, however, tend to colorshift to 4800k-5000k after about 100 hours of usage

The 85122+ are slightly better because they tend not to colorshift. They are also rated to 4200k instead of 4300k.

do you happen to know the CRI rating?

I don't see how color shifting to 5000K is a bad thing. 5000K usually have a higher CRI and is the same light that the sun would give at high noon

maybe i'm wrong but up to 6000K is where the maximum lighting will be? .. higher then that the lumens start to drop off?

Anyone installed 6000K's?

Actually, the best light output is at 4300k. Anything above that, light output starts to decrease.

I still love the look and light intensity of the Phillips Ultinon 6000k though.

Im not too sure of the CRI rating, but the reason why colorshifting is not something desirable is because light output decreases above 4300k.
The 85122+ d2s bulbs stay at that color temperature with little to no change. It all depends on the liking of the user.

FYI: The OEM bulbs are Phillips 35W. If you're looking to replace, I would stay with that and keep it as close to 4300K as possible for the best light output as everyone else is saying.

4200 is optimum. Don't go for the blue/purple lights. Even halogens are better than those.
