2001 gsr with 2000 gsr head
Ok i bought a completly stock 2001 Integra GSR and sent it to "(unamed)" for a b20v swap. but when i got it back, the head was stamped "00". I talked to the owner about this and he says, "that is the same head that came off your block."
Ok. my Question is how many acuras/hondas have you guys seen roll off the production lines with year old heads?
Im going to call Acura and the guy i bought the Gsr from tomorrow and see if they can help me.

Kind of hard to explain, but its either june or july. One of those two months(cant remember which)that the next years model starts to be produced. So just say july of 2000 the 2001 model starts being produced and is labeled as a 2001 even though it was actually produced in 2000. Just as an example. You may have a 2001 model with a 2000 stamped motor.
Out of curiosity, is this related to lab junkies/the honda lab/what ever the place is called now? They are all two faced crooks.
As said previously the 2000 and 2001 heads are identical. The only difference I can see would be mileage between your "2001" head and the 2000 head you got it back with.

I wouldnt worry about it, both of the heads are identical anyway. It is common to find something like this, depending on the year (more specifically, MONTH) in which the car was produced.

Lol seems like it, you can tell by the tenth digit of your vin number what yr engine your car should have. It may have a newer production date but it could be a older yr model
On my gsr head it says 99 and it was off my 2000 gsr. So i guess it is common. I bought it at the shop like that but just notice it 2 years later wen i pull out the motor to throw it in my db8 gsr
And this is the reason why putting a specific mark on engine parts is important. You can always tell if its yours or not.
OR
Dont send it to a shop that might seem shady or that you are not familiar with.

10th digit of the vin usually tells you what yr specs your car was made to
I was assuming yours was a Y cause that's 00 and your head says 00 but I guess I assumed wrong
A "1" is for 01
Weird but as said its normal

hmm... Ok i swear i had a 01 head b4 the swap! I changed the headgasket... I asked dude and he says the same-sometimes Honda does that. I know i shudda marked things b4 i let someone else touch my Acura. This sucks! I guess i can call the used car lot i purchased it from 2c if they can help. Anyone got any ideas on how i can "prove" i had an 01 head? -stumped-
the date stamp on the head is the date they cast it. They don't cast heads on the assembly line, so the date won't be the same as the VIN. It's very common for all or part of a car to be manufactured in the year prior to the "year" of the car. How do you think dealers had 2011 cars on the lot in 2010? So unless you had some record of a number on your head there's no way to prove whether or not you got the same one back
