I have a question, i am sure you people can help me.. I want to drop my car. I was told to purchase coilovers and shocks. What do you people recommend? Also, i understand that it isn't going to be as smooth and soft has stock but, which is the best way to go? I have driven in a couple of my buddies cars and they hit really hard. I want to avoid that.. i want to drop but not crindge every time i go over a bump.. I am not trying to kill my pocket either..
Also , I live in Chicago REALLY BUMPIE!!!!!!!!!!!

I suggest you get Koni shocks. They are slightly expensive, but well worth it (just ask most of the HT members, they would agree). As for the springs, stick with a big brand name (Eibach, Ground Control, H&R, etc.). Try to avoid dropping more than 1.3-1.5"
if you dont want a shity ride i would not recomend coilovers get springs neuspeed are good for the money get the race drop your car will look sick ride almost as nice as stock and its not going to cost a lot and like the other guy said get koni's!
I have neuspeed spring 2.25 drop with tokico blue shocks on my 95 teg, and it rides good. I should have bought 5 way adjustable though, i think getting multiple adjustable shocks well worth your money especially in the long run. you wont regret it.
I have some cheap OBX r coilovers on my other 2000 civic hatch with stock shocks and LORD its ride like ****. Dont get coilovers, the springs are way to small to even be compressed when you ride. If you do plan on getting coilovers, atleast get GroundControl with some KONI YELLOW 5 way ADJUSTABLE shocks.
I personally think all COILOVER SUCKS unless your get them APEX, TEIN, JIC, etc. complete coilover kit that will run bout $1000+
WHAT YOU PAY IS WHAT YOU GET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my bf handed me down a set of koni shocks w/ground control coilovers.. completely adjustable.. and corners well especially when trying to follow my friend's crazy driving through the mountains.. geez.. u'd think he never left that track that day.. i'm glad i'm not on stock shocks and sprint springs anymore.. i would have fallen off the mountain!!
for starters springs are the cheapest.. if you just wanna test it out for awhile.. sprints are cheap and ride close to stock.. suspension techniques are also pretty good for the price and give a stiffer ride than the sprints.. make sure you cut the bumpstops when u lower ur car.
i think its about how much you want to be able to control how ur car handles.. you may just wanna fork out for some coilovers.. depends on what your going to do with your car in the future.

I prefer springs over coilovers personally. I have had them and was not pleased. Ride will not be as good as a full length spring, and I was too lazy to adjust ride height anyway. You will need an alignment if you change it. Lastly you can end up with worse handling very easily.
I have never had a gf buy me car stuff. They think I love my car more

ground controls and tokico shocks. very economical and one of the best combos out there. people say get konis.. and get kyb agxs.. and others say skunk2s... and get springs...
but the real thing is... ground controls use eibach springs... ride is good... and tokicos blues are affordable and compliment the ride. if you want to spend a grip.. then get the expensive ****. it aint too much of a difference unless youre a hardcore racer.

coilovers will give you a nice bouncy stiff ride especially the lower you go. W/ springs....if you get after market shocks, your ride will be close to stock but better handling on the road. SInce i'm still young, i can still handle the bouncy stiff cringing ride and not sweat it, but as i get older, my car keeps getting higher and quieter...its all up to you. Hope this helps
Blah blah blah, another opinionated poll. You're gonna hear mixed reviews on this the whole way. Everyone has their own setup and will boast about it.
I have ground control springs and tokico illuminas (5-way adjustable). I feel like the car handles better than stock and it isn't too bumpy a ride.
The general consensus is that something like Eibach or Ground Control (which yes is made by eibach but done a bit different) are good springs and the best struts to get are generally the koni yellows (fully adjustable).
