Damn ACURA won't fix my car!
I bought a used 2000 GSR with 10,000 miles from the dealer a year ago. It was already modified and they assured me that it was still under warranty. Now, I have an engine problem and they won't fix it because they said it was modified. I was like "THAT WAS HOW YOU SOLD IT TO ME!!" and they said they don't believe it was sold like that. All of the managers and sales people that can vouche for me are no longer there. What do I do now? Anyone knows what exactly voids your warranty?
It has: CAI, DC Headers, B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator, JDM Red Valve cover, and the person before me messed with the ECU harness so some wires are soldered together. That's it!
Sounds like you should have a new ecu installed. Seems to be an electrical problem. What do the disclaimers say in the warranty booklet that came with the car?
You could try a different Acura dealer.

this is very typical.. "its your mods.. we wont warranty it" they tried to tell me my window got stuck/fell off its rail/track.. because my car is lowered and the "excess shock/vibration from the lowering springs caused the window to slip" wtf? after causing quite a commotion in the service dept (w/ other customers in line) they finally agreed to fix my window under warranty....
anyways.. technically they have to prove the mod was what caused whatever is wrong w/ your car.. but that sucks that the previous owner messed w/ the ECU.. he probably had a V-AFC or something and took it out and just did a crappy job of taking it out (since he was selling the car prolly didn't care)... not sure exactly whats wrong w/ your car... did you try jumping the service connector and pulling the code yourself?

Blinking CEL and the car is lagging and then kicking back to normal during acceleration. Feels like it is misfiring somewhere.
Yeah, I didn't think about that. My wife's Malibu used to do that once in a while. The check engine light would come on and the car would lag and misfire. Every time it was the spark plugs/wires. If you change plugs, do the wires at the same time. Old wires can contaminate and scratch new plugs. I found that out after a $40 diagnostic check from the dealer.
should have gotten a written agreement between you and the dealer stating they will cover any defects on car despite having the listed modifications etc etc. that way if they try to pull that ish on you, bust out the paper...
Now, I regret not getting a written agreement. I knew a bunch of people there that can vouche for me, but I never thought ALL would be gone in a year.
thats bs by them. i had my CAI and dc headers on when took it to them. i mis shifted and melted my valves. i had more miles on my car than you too. i caused a little scene but they still fixed it for me. go bitch some more. they will fix it.
