start with the usual. check timing, what condition are plugs, wires in. did the car just start doing this when you switched ecu's or did u switch hoping to fix it. what rpm does it "bounce" up to. or would it be better to say it's struggling to stay running and dies. when was the last time the car ran right or is this how you bought it.

Try Using an ODB1 TPS sensor.

Why do you want to get rid of sensors? I don't see a point to converting to OBD1 if this is the original engine/ECU in your car.

the timing is good and so are the plugs and wires. the car runs fine with the obd2 ecu. i just want to get rid of the crank sensor and the extra o2 sensor and stuff. and yes it struggles to run unless i give it gas. a friend of mine told me to take my throttle body off and screw some screw in that was under it?? does anyone know what he might be saying? thanks for the help by the way

So if it runs fine with the obd2 ecu. do u have a diff. car to check out the obd 1 ecu to make sure it works. I have taken a obd1 ecu and with a jumper harness plugged it into my b18b and i couldnt tell a diff. i only let it idle but is it possible their is something wrong with the ecu you are trying to use.

It's exactly the same as an OBD2 TPS sensor.

Unless you're planning on getting it chipped and dyno tuned it's complete waste of time and money.

My thoughts exactly.

Send the obd1 ecu to one of the sponsors on the HT they can check it out. Next time post in the engine management section. do not waste money putting a stock b18b on a dyno. The idle adjustment is on top of the tb under the brass plug.
