Default Wheels and Tires for 1994 Accord

We just purchased a 1994 Honda Accord.

It has been lowered some.

Currently there are 2 tires, over half tred left on the back. Size 215-40-R16. There is 205-50-R16 on the front with hardly any tred left. Then one spare full size tire, original to the car.

We need 2 new tires, and would like to get what use we can out of the 2 good ones that are on there.

Also, there are currently 3 White Motegi Racing Wheels 16x7JJ on the car.
We are searching for one more. Do you know where to find this?
If not we may just have to sell the 3, and get 4 matching.

Overall my questions are:

What size wheels are best, or will work?
What size tires are best, or will work?
Temporarily and long term?

We are tight on cash, so the the goal right now is to get 2 tires on the front, just for safe driving purposes. We would go ahead and get a matching Motegi Wheel if we can find it. If not nice matching wheels can come later.

We have already found a good set of wheels and tires standard size 185-70-14 at a good price. Will they still fit with accord being lowered some? Based on height chart I found there will be a 2 inch difference between current tire and standard/factory tire.

Pictures below.

Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks!

I'd start off reading through the FAQ's here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/wheel-tire-56/9658-forum-rules-faq-read-before-posting-1188922/

As for proper tire sizing, use a tire size calculator like: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

I don't believe that the Motegi Racing MR7 is still in production, so you may have to search the used market. But, being that it was a common and mass-produced knock-off, you're more then likely to find a replacement wheel without breaking the bank (a fair price for a full set of those wheels in good condition is around $150 - $200 without tires).

A 2" drop will not cause any problems for stock sized tires. So if the 185/70/14's are close to stock sizing (check the tire size calculator above), then you'll be fine.

I say go back to stock size. The reason there is such a difference in the size is b/c 215/40/16 is WAY too small for a 94 Accord. They are 6% or 1.4" smaller than stock size. I would look into getting that corrected. Just from the pics you can see the rear tires look under sized. the fronts are perfect size for an Accord with 16" wheels.

The rear tires are terribly undersized. If you're only replacing 2 tires, I would match the exact same tire size you have on the front. Long term, if you're looking for something better, you can always replace all 4 for something that better suits your driving habits and style.
