I need CRX help
I just bought an 1986 CRX yesterday...I love CRXs but this one is giving me soooooooo much problems and I dont know what to do to fix it..
The first big problem is that it doesnt want to start, when it does start it idles at 2000 rpms, if it goes under 2000rpms it cuts off.
I checked under the hood, to see if I could adjust the idl, and I noticed this wire that was wraped around two different hoses by the carborator...I honestly dont think the wire is ment to be there, but I am alittle edgy about taking it off, because I dont know why its there....I asked some one who was here at the time, and he said he though it might be closing the automatic choke or something...but that I should maybe take it off and see what happens.
I am worried that when I do set the idle down, it wont start, because when it goes down that low it cuts off..so I dont know
I also notice when I am in any gear, mostly first and second, the car jerks, like I am in to low of a gear, which I though might also be because of the ideling problem...it alos does it in 5th gear, but not as much, only when I take my foor off the gas, and the rpm starts droping.
If anyone can point mr into the right direction as to what I should do to get this fix, I would be soooo happy....
Thank you
*hugs*

sorry to hear about ur rex, I do not know about carburated engines so i cannot help u. What do you mean by the car jerks? does it feel like you were pushing the gas pedal in and out? try going to your local public library and picking up a haynes or chiltons or some other type of service manual. you might even want to buy it from an auto store, cause you might be working on it quite a bit.
good luck
