new to the h/f game...got a few questions...
So im new to the H/F series engines, and i picked up a f23a1 for $100 bucks and full f22b1 head for free...
I have done some research but would like some reassurance to what i have found out and possibly some answers to some questions...
So are the castings the same for the f23a1 head and the f22b1, i have read that the internals(rockers & assembly, and valves are different, obviously the cams are) but what about the ports? I read the F23 intake manifold is 2mm larger the the F22 but is it the same with the head?
Also i believe i have some F22a non vtec head bolts, will the work with the vtec head? i don't see why they wouldn't but don't wanna build a motor on a educated guess.
Another thing would i use the F22b timing belt since that is the head im going with?
And im not doing this to be an all out performance motor, its gonna be a stock rebuild mated to an S8G d-series transmission by Bisi's f2d kit...I was gonna go with the H22 head but that will come later. This is going in my ej8 for a dd so im just looking for reliability of a stock motor with a little more torque, so i can pull the b16 out and boost that in my hatchback.

Thanks for the support yea got the ok from the gf to order the f2d kit when i get my tax money back this friday...im getting pretty pumped...by the way any advice or input about the f-series...factory upgrades(hybrid or non-hybrid)
seems i overlooked some stuff in the box of parts, seems i have the proper headbolts to go along with the head also...
