My 97 Civic DX sedan is recently throwing intermittent SRS code 8-5, which indicates an internal failure in the SRS unit. I believe that the SRS unit from both 96 and 97 Civics will work - correct me if I'm wrong. If you have a SRS unit with part number 77960-S04-N82 for sale, please let me know.

Can you give me details/history about the SRS unit you have? Do you know whether it works? A brand new one would cost me about $426 at Majestic Honda. PM me what you think a fair price would be for your used one.

 

Came out of my 97 LX parts car. No wrecks, only parting cause of no title.

Check the part number on the top of the module. You will need one with exact part number. If you can't get one during the week maybe I can get one in the weekend.

Please tell me whether you have an SRS unit with this same exact part number.

well i just looked.. i got a 96 lx one and a 97 ex one.. there both N81 not the N82.. so dont know if there is a difference.. i got one more out of a 98 4 door lx.. not sure on that one yet..

Are you sure the N81 unit will not work? Do you know where I might be able to look up compatible units for the N82?

I will check but I have a 96 dx sedan i'm parting out. airbags had not been deployed so I assume the unit is fine. still need it?

 

You part number has superceded to 77960-S04-N94, that might help you find it faster.
