I have a 2000 Accord V6 and my SRS light is on. I went to the dealer and he changed a few sensors in the car which were under warrenty. When I got home the light came on again. I went back to the dealer and he mentioned that the SRS ECU needed to be changed which was NOT covered under warrenty. They wanted $1,000.00 to replace it (parts and labour).

I wanted to change the SRS ECU myself. Does anyone know where the SRS ECU is located and has anyone ever changed it?

It's under the "cubby". The part of the center console area that has the 12v plug.


$1000? what a rip off. The SRS ECU is $400 from an online dealer.

 

You're positive it's not the seatbelt sensor, right? Just got it fixed on my car - I had to bring it up to them and ask them to look though... probably because its covered under lifetime warranty and therefore free. Probably already looked at, but figured it was worth mentioning since a $0 bill is much better than a $1000 bill.
