Default What do you make of this clutch wear?

I'm in the process of switching clutches (going back to the stock flywheel and OEM clutch), and noticed this when I removed the old one after 23,000 miles (Exedy Cerametallic Stage 2 on a Clutchmasters aluminum flywheel):

Obviously something is wrong and I'm not sure how it happened. Installation was fine and procedure was followed as far as I can recall (2002). It always made noise when engaging, but I had read that ceramatallic discs can squeal, so I thought nothing of it...

It looks like the disc is the wrong size but also like the flywheel is warped due to the uneven wear in picture 2? Any insight?

*edit* I apologize for the picture size; I wanted to show detail.

Look like it's chattering right before complete engagement. Bad bearing(s)?

On a different note, I just swapped out my 4 pucks clutch and heavy duty pressure plate and went back to stock parts on my DD. What's a pleasure to drive my car again.

does look like chatter

if this isn't on a turbo car why did you use such an aggressive clutch?

It seems like some of the fasteners may not have been torqued down inproperly or some bolts just backed out over. But that seems pretty extreme for what it looks like, particularly when you say that it chattered from day one. That thing must've been unpleastant to drive?

Who knows why I picked it. It wasn't very bright.

It was just noisy but felt fine and it squealed and didn't really chatter.

Well I sent the pictures to Exedy for their opinion. It looks like the flywheel surface was warped, which can be seen by the wear on it and the uneven wear on the friction disc (thick inner tapering to thin outside). I'm not sure how this happened since it was a new flywheel. The rivets were wearing just because there was so little friction material left, so the noise it was always making was not the rivets wearing.

It's actually a good thing I decided to switch it out, seeing how little material is left.
