before the terrible accident on delancy about a year ago the newark had some of the best races ive seen. Right now streetracing is really dying in Northern NJ i guess every1 is growing up and they just take it 2 the track. Even Hunts Point is not as good as it uesd 2 be.
Nothing use to compare to the good old days of street racing. Now its about 10 cars racing and 100 kids spectating. With cops getting more organized and people acting more stupid street racing is dying.
I remember the good old days of Hunts Point and Zerega, whered we work on cars all afternoon friday and bring the cars over around 2am and we wouldnt leave till 7am. There would be races all night long. The competition would be intense, you'd see some of the best street racing on the eastcoast. Cars with VA, CT, PA plates, 10, 11, and 12 second cars without a problem. Big dog domestics. Super cars like Vipers, and RX7s preying on hondas that could hang with them. Sometimes youd even hear about a big money race on the Henry Hudson and go check it out. Damn I miss those days.
**** I even remember the days of Ave P. and Delancy or even RT. 59 up in Nanuet. When everyone was about street racing and it was fun as hell to stay up all nite long and run from the cops.
I am sure there are many more places that people are still running at but its no where close to being as good and if it is, its on the strict downlow. So now I dont even waste my time, cops will lock you up these days for street racing and sometimes it not worth it.

street racing used to be the **** in jersey and ny. now we got a bunch of riceboys attending the races and acting like ******** causing horrible accidents such as the one on delancy st someone spoke of earlier. i was there for that one all because one ******* with a 15 second ride couldnt lose a race racing in the opposite direction. my i dea of a street race nowadays is talk some **** in a parking lot and go for one quick pull at a safe spot and leave. thats how we do. otherwise take it to the track.
Same here in Montreal guys. A few years ago people used to show up with slicks, now it's all about kids with mostly stock cars, doing burnouts for nothing etc
I only went once this summer and it's like 200 people looking and 4-5 racers

ppl could be doing worse things but i've seen a couple ppl die and quite a few get phugged up bad....not really feeling even being there but once in a while hit up queens or greenpoint out in brooklyn...the flatlands were always cool a lot more low key and faster cars.
i am from new haven and go to hunts point all the time, i love it, it is off the hook
111, but where the hell is greenspoint???? i have also been to a place on the Bronx called Zurega, but that wasnt so great.
Other good places for the races are waterbury Ct., Bridgeport, and Long Warf New Haven.CT.

I love it when people bust a nut when they see my intercooler and actually KNOW what it is and we have a conversation, even get respect from dsm guys when they see my car (not like I care or anything) but its cool how cars can bond people and start convo's I like that.
