Default stunnas k24 EM1 make it or break it thread

Since IA, what was supposed to be a hella late debut for the car, I had troubles with it. A week before IA when we were able to get the car running finally after a delayed build that went hell and half of Georgia around where it was supposed to be and when it should have been done we had problems on the dyno. 3rd cylinder was reading 130 compression, and on a leak down it showed that there was a problem with that cylinder. The car smoked at idle before it was ever on the dyno. I figured it could be a ring, and I tuned to drive the car just so that I could get some seat time in it. Car seemed pretty strong too.

After not driving the car since thanksgiving, I head over to the shop to tear the motor down.

The culprit of that problem:

Now this is the state of the car:

Here it how it was a little over a week ago:

On a positive note. The Skunk2 parts I had in the motor, which saw abuse, held up for me pretty well. There was no damage to the valves whatsoever. This was a big plus. The chunk from piston 3 is nowhere to be found, and was obviously an issue on initial start up. Now, I will only have to add in new pistons since there is no damage to the cylinder walls, and get back on the dyno.

Come along and see how this goes. Last time was some bullshit, lets see how she holds up this time! The plan is to build it bigger, add more fuel, and rip to see if it blows again!

BIG THANKS TO:
Chris @Whoopeedoo Racing for putting up with my bullshit

There were not some at IA in a few threads. After IA in Nashville over the summer, I drove the car around and tried to work on some other bugs with the car. I really seem to like the suspension, but would like to go over everything again and corner balance it. I also have a new brake setup that I have yet to put on the car, but this should be possibly it with this build.

Matt,
I will have the car back on the dyno very soon. Ill post video of the initial startup.

I am just wanting to clean up the car at this point. I might add a different front bumper or mod it, and play with the interior some. I have feet where the cage was started but was never finished, so that might go. I am pleased over all. You couldnt ask for a better setup.

The BASF Candy Teal was the best decision I ever made. I love the color. I had a teal eg back in 00-01 and til this day I have missed that car. Getting into this car reminds me of that car, except now I have a 6speed trans.

Now that it comes back into play, we installed the head at my bud Ian's. I never remember seeing any cracks or issues in the pistons.

Good. That's the right answer bud. I'll be there in the daily though, bud. The EM2 is getting torn in to, for a rather lengthy build. But, the daily won't be entirely stock, I can assure you.

Blues, EM1 fo life! How have you been man?

Yag, Ill be posting much more of the build next week. I might post some dyno videos as well, showing the car smoking as well.

Aquafina is the tranny master! Thats why he likes the west coast and vegas so much!

Kyle, Thanks man. Color makes it for sure! Wheels are hard to match with it, and i wanted to be my own style with it. Youll see more crazy colors for sure.

4dr, yes. I have not done much with Honda Tuning as of late, but for a few years i did shoot and write with Honda Tuning. I need to hop back in shooting again. I miss it.

tim, drinks on you?

I've never to been to the west coast lol, only Vegas. I did mess around with Kubo's tranny there though.

If you want to use Supertech pistons this time around let me know.

Yea man. But hey, coming back stronger and faster so I guess I cannot complain. I am excited to see the results of using these pistons. They seemed cheaper than the rest but people have great things to say about them. I saw a post Chunky did about their expansion rate vs stock and CP's. CP are worth the money, but many guys are building on a budget.
