Default RSXs Being Stolen

I'm in the market for a decent DD. Currently I'm an owner of a s/c black integra GSR but fear of it being stolen, keeps me from using it as I'd like to on a daily basis without taking the necessary precautions.

Do RSXs get targetted? I understand the notion of "If a thieve wants the car bad enough, nothing will stop him/her," but compared to an ITR/DC/99-00 SI, would the RSX be a better/safer choice?

Thoughts?

i think anything is a better choice than a civic/integra..

i'm sure every car has been stolen at some point, just some more than others, either way- get a security system

I don't hear too many DC5's or EP3's being stolen, probably more of them get blown, LOL...

more or less to steal an RSX or EP3 you need to tow them so it's not as common for them to be stole but they are stolen. Just not a **** ton like the DC2/DC4 and etc....

Immobilizer helps with that.

Pry hood open (not hard), disconnect battery, tow away.

take precaution, but they are less stolen than DC2's, at least from what I see.

ya but the resale value for our cars is still really high so if somebody wants it they will take it especially if the person makes it look like they are just working on the car which isnt hard. i lived in san diego for a year and the mexicans that worked in the chop shops just across the border would come to san diego, tow a car with a commercial towing vehicle down to the border and boom...your car is destroyed within hours

RSX are just as easy to steal, if your area is prone to a theft rate that is obvious when you go to certain parts of the city then your car will eventually be messed with. Wether it's a Type S that carries a K series motor some Civic owner wants, or if you get a 05+ DC5 even if it's a base people want your front end/rear conversion. No matter what you decide protect your vehicle. This RSX Type S I am showing had factory wheels, so like I believe there is something for everybody on all Hondas & Acuras to steal.

Its pretty much common sense.

and don't forget seats which would be nice in any car and dash which could go in an EM1. black interior to sell to tan owners for conversion. almost all parts on a DC5 can be sold easily

That was not even on a bad part of town, it was on the outskirts of campus on Boston College. Someone just passed by and saw something they wanted, this happened around 9:00 Car was found as is an hour later. Stayed like this for a full week before insurance came by. All I want to stress is NO car is safe from thieves, no matter what make, if there is some popularity on it, someone wants stuff from it.

Not on my current one, but I did have more than fair share of my stuff stolen in the past, wheels, emblem, seats, and a car... And my neighborhood was not a bad place either... what a feeling it was to see my car sitting on a milk carton with no wheels.

1) McGards, two to three different sets for each wheel. (Still can be stolen)

2) Back up battery, with stealth alarm install, also tilt sensor for when your car is getting towed or wheels are being stolen.

3) GPS tracking if you have a lot of money invested.

4) Wheel boots.

Etc.

Think of it as layers, the more layers for thieves to have to go through the less likely he will steal it, or get away with your car.

i honestly don't see the issue of bumping an old thread...if you're actually adding to it.

it beats making a whole new thread and cluttering up the forums

Reading this thread has made me paranoid about my car being stolen.
The bad thing is, my passenger side door doesn't lock automatically, so if I drive somebody somewhere and they forget to manually lock the door... :'(
I love my RSX to death, I don't know what I'd do if it got stolen.
