what the different between these two msd box? im doing a project on my gsr that will soon be turbo..i just bought a msd dizzy and im looking to buy a msd box and and set up for it..what msd box will be best for me? im looking at two different msd box msd scl or msd 6al box.

 

Sell the MSD dizzy and don't buy the MSD box. 8 out of 10 cars using MSD products end up with ignition issues.

Use DISTRIBUTOR, OEM HONDA IGNITOR, COIL, PLUG WIRES, CAP, ROTOR for up to 600 whp.

its not the fault of the equipment...99% its the installers fault.
i installed a msd sci-l box in 2001 and its 2011 and runs without a hiccup. we also run msd boxes on the shop cars....never had an issue.
my uncles del sol has been running for 15 years with the same msd box i installed...my fathers old GTO ran the same msd setup for probably as long as ive been alive....countless drag cars use it....nascar uses them....most drag boats ive seen use them....i could go on and on

 

You obviously have never used an msd pro billet distributor on a honda yet.
I have seen countless ignition problems on countless vehicles.
Does the installation have a lot to do with it? Yes, however I have seen cars with perfect installs experience sci box failures, coil failures etc.
IMO, OEM ignition will do the job for 90% of the cars out there. The other 10% should run COP or m&w.

 

to answer the OP's main question....oem distributor with a sci box and hvc-2 coil.
this is what i run minus the oem ignitor...i use a custom built ignitor
i would recommend getting someone who understands electronics to install it for you.

i run the 6al with the blaster ss coil. works great, used it over 10 years now dd.
