Can i use the paper clip trick to check the CEL code? If i can how would i do it? I dnt know where to put the paper clip and what else to do after that.

 

why dont you just go get it scanned? theres lots of places that do it for free. you should be OBD2. i dont see why it wouldnt work. someone correct me if im wrong

 

Well i went to my old highschool and ask my teacher to check. The first code that came out yesterday was the TPS, i re plugged it and he cleared the code. The engine light then came on like 5 mins later and today i went back to check and now the code that came up was the IAC, i unplugged it becuz i was idling the rpm so maybe it just that but it plug back in and he cleared the code and then CEL havent came on yet.

one question, my motor is from a 2000 gsr and the shell is a 96 gsr shell. Would i need to get it ref?

Yea i was, i followed this one guide i found on the net and it told me that wen i do it i need to unplug the IAC plug and the tube on top of the manifold. By ref i mean getting it state ref, because the motor is a 2000 gsr (obd2b) and the shell is a 1996 gsr 4 door (obd2a). Would i need to state ref it so i can smog? or just go straight to do smog?

Which ecu are you running? Smog is different almost everywhere. Some are more strict then others.

 

Im running a p72-a02 ecu. As of now, i have no check engine light. But its weird how i have a poked out cat and th CEL doesnt come on for that.

by that i mean, a catalytic converter that is poked out. So its like a cheap test pipe.

That's not gonna effect anything, except cats usually take the raspy sound out of the exhaust

 

oh well, where Im at you need a cat to pass smog. I just borrowed one from a friend but now i need a stock header becuz the one on mine was cut to fit the accord piping in it. I also got my old piping from my 2 door too, will it fit my 4 door?
