Default 93 Prelude NO SPEEDO NO VTEC ??????

ok im new here and got a weird question

ive got a 93 prelude that was originally a h23 but is now a h22, ive changed over to the p13 ecu and everything else i was supposed to do BUT my (analog) speedometer isnt working at all and neither is Vtec. Ive already replaced the VSS casue i was getting a CEL for the vss but its gone now that i fixed it.
I know the vtec itself works if i manualy trigger it
Can a bad speedo guage itself stop vtec from working?

the only other lights i have on are the SRS and ABS.

how can i test the speedo itself?
also what else could be stopping vtec without a CEL?

NOTE: i picked up this project halfway completed so i dont know if the speedo use to work

ok so i replaced the cluster today with a known good one, still not vtec or working speedo.

i checked for continuity between B10 and and the vss plug and nothing (orange wire) so i tried to bypass it with another wire and still nothing except i made it throw a cell. WTF! someone help!!!

you have to fix that electrical problem between b10 and the vss first and then everything will work properly. And the speedo not working will not allow the car to go into vtec as vtec is speed and rpm dependent.

Try replacing the wire that goes from b10 to the vss connector.

SOLVED!

black/yellow wire at vss sensor was frayed inside the plug
