Icon3 check engine?! in my obd1 ef d16z6 ef

ok so car was working fine and didnt have any problems ran good vtec hit and i just smogged it to!
well now it turns on the CEL when it hits 5 k and vtec dont engage so im wondering what can it be? it also kinda has a lag and boggs any help? thanks much appreciated

not sure havent checked it im thinking the vtec solenoid or oil pump?

why do ppl post that they have a CEL and a crappy running car yet NEVER diagnose the ECU codes! ok sooo you have an engine light on. how bout checking the trouble code? maybe itll tell you the problems

oil pump wouldnt throw a code. vtec solenoid is possible,

My thoughts EXACTLY!! I don't want to be captain obvious but if you have a CEL then common sense should tell you to find out what the code is.

ok ive been really buzy i finally checked the CEL it first blinks 3 times fast then pauses then 7 times fast?

The three fast blinks are code 3 for map sensor is it hooked up right are the wires cut is the map sensor any good???? And code 7 is tps. Is your tps any good look for cut wires. But honestly try switching the tps plug to the map sensor and the map sensor plug to the tps I think you have them both mixed up a lot of people do that get them confused they are both the same style 3 wire. Plug I bet that fix your problem if not look for bad wiring

Now you need to find out if these two components and the ECU are in good working order. Get a hold of the service manual and run through the troubleshooting procedures for MAP and throttle angle sensor.

wiring looks fine i might change out the throttle body see what that does how do i reset the ecu

Take the negative cable off the battery for 30 seconds.
