'91 Civic rear defrost and horn not working
Hey guys, I just purchased a '91 civic hatch with 276000KM's on it and I love the car, although there are a couple of minor issues.
First off the rear defrost does not work, when I push the button, it does not light up and the rear window does not defrost. I checked the #18 10A fuse and it's fine as are the connections at the grid itself. Is there a relay in between there somewhere that I should check or anything like that? The horn is also inop. as well....
It's -25 celcius here right now and the temp gauge never quite reaches half, and if im in stop and go traffic, it starts to drop and the heater is never "burn you hot" like my buddies 1990 civic used to be, is this just an inherent issue with these cars or does it appear that my thermostat is leaking?
Any advice would be great, thanks a lot guys!

maybe your thermostat is stuck open or totally removed. id check that first. also try using a known working defrost switch from another car. if that works and still no defrost then your leads going across the back glass arent creating a circuit. the copper gets old and crispy after years of sun damage, or comes off from window tint being removed.
theres a defroster relay on the fuse box and for the horns check in the engine bay fuse box and theres a fuse labeled horn
Cool thanks guys, I just checked all my fuses and the connections at the defrost grid all seem OK. I'll try a different switch on monday and see if that fixes it.
Also, sometimes when I come to a stop the revs kinda dip down pretty low and nearly stalls, and it bogs when applying moderate throttle when it's cold, just some inherent issues with the TBI injection I'm assuming?

In the inerior fuse box or engine fuse box for the defrost? Theres both a fuse in the interior and engine fuse box labelled "defrost" but both were good, didn't see a relay though.
Thanks for the info man, I really appreciate it. I went to pick 'n pull today and got a new switch, and the defrost works now. So in my case the light would not come on, and a new swtich fixed the issue, thanks again.
Any advice on the intermittent low idle and wanting to stall/bogging when acclerating issue?

Started a new thread for the bogging issue as I just found I had a code 7 - throttle angle. Any idea how to remove the TPS? I can't make out what kind of castanets are holding it on.
