Default Question and opinions needed for JDM front end...

I'm thinking about purchasing a DC2 sometime soon. I've had a 2001 GS-R before and was going to go front-end on it, but I had to sell the car. And I'm thinking about continuing where I left off but with another car.

I'd like to know what most people do as far as buy the kit goes. I've done some research and do most people replace the whole radiator support for the JDM one? Or just modify the headlamp bar and swap the T supports?

Either way would work, but I want to know the advantages and disadvantages of each route, if possible...

Thank you very much!

I did the whole support. Had to cause old one was bent from minor wreck. Just make sure if you do the whole thing that it is properly welded on and set straight before welded. I believe if you just do the light bar it is easier to get straight. It wasnt really to bad to do. Just alot of drilling to get the spot welds out

Hmm okay yeah I see. Definitely a lot of drilling, I've heard about that. Anyone else?

full sopport is the best way to go. it has all of your oem bolt ups, looks clean and takes about 8 hours. it also gives you time to touch up and paint anything you may need to to get the cleanest look possible.

Oh and dont forget you have to get a da hood latch. The dc2 one is to short. Wiring isnt to bad. Ya have to hook up the front corner lights to run because in japan the corner lights dont light up.

i just used the uper t- support SOOOO MUCH EASIER. and you dont need another hood latch but you do need a DA cable for the latch.

If you decide to replace the entire radiator support, you should go to a good auto paint store and buy a 'spot weld' drill bit. It will make the re-welding easier.

the whole swap is easy, gotta use the radiator support and you gotta spot weld for a legit swap

Can you specify on this? I'm not too sure what you're talking about here...

If resale value and "doing things the right way" are things you care about, there's really only one answer here.

The jdm headlights have one big connector that plugs into it to control head lights corner lights and turn signal. Most conversions dont come with this plug. You can use spade connectors and plug them in seperate or order the right plug and wire it up. I dont remember where I got em at

Best bet is to go through Steve at Hmotorsonline.com. He sells you everything and if something isn't right or severely damaged when it gets there he will fix it immediately. My buddy's ITR front came with an HID that wasn't working, it would just flicjer with power then shut off, we called Steve, had a new working one in 3 days, he would have gotten it there faster but her didn't have to have it so he told Steve he didn't have to over night it. I bought all my parts new other than the head lights but if I had it to do over again I would have gone through Steve! SO much less aggravation.

If your going to go jdm front, dont hack up a good integra with a good usdm front end. Buy one that doesnt look so great on the cheap. You will have to paint it after you do the front end any way. Might as well save some money on the project. Just my opinion.

i did mine 2 times. the first was the whole core support the second was from the shock towers forward. that eliminated the airbox hole in the fender apron.
