Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a 97 CRV AWD with 144k on it currently. The timing belt, water pump, and brakes were replaced recently. Body and interior are in amazing shape. Are there any major problems I should be aware of or look out for? Thanks.

You should also include these things before buying a used car .
1. Check Consumer Reports on the safest cars out there. Looks are one thing, but never ignore safety
2. Remember, private sellers generally are not covered by the Used Car Rule and don't have to use the Buyers Guide. However, you can use the Guide's list of an auto's major systems as a shopping tool.
3. Examine the car carefully yourself using an inspection checklist. You can find a checklist in any car forum . I think you can have one from here too .

 

Mine is at 150k and still running strong. Just get a diff and tranny flush then I say your golden.
