2002 Honda Accord, Maintenance light?
does anyone know how to get rid of the maintenance required light on the guage cluster. unlike older accords where a pin/key could reset it on the speedometer, it's electronic.
don't feel like bringing the car to honda so they can charge me an arm/leg for their scheduled maintenance.
any help would be great.
thanks

I do not know. But there has to be a button or key hole for it. Requiring a dealership to turn it off would be rediculous of Honda.
What happens if you hold down your trip meter reset?

the owners manual outlines the light's behavior. It will come on like 1000 miles or so before the maintenance interval and just blink a few times. then when you get to within a few hundred miles it will flash even more. And then when the maintenance is due it will just stay on all the time. The manual also tells you how exactly to turn it off manually too.
1) Put key in ignition
2) Hold down Trip/Reset button.
3) Turn ignition to ON (DO NOT START)
4) Keep holding Trip/Reset button for about 10 seconds.
5) The maintenance light will flash for a bit and then go out.
6) Start car - viola - no more maintenance light.
