My finished CRX project 89 SI
Hi, guys this is one of my projects that I finished in 2008 and never had a chance to post up..Here you go enjoy

89 CRX Si, picked it up from a guy that posted it on Ebay with an LS/Vtec for $2000 went there and omg...this thing needs alot more TLC than he states, but after all this was in 06 and it wasn't a bad deal...so on the tow truck it went and the project started...

Usual CRX cancer, good thing is that there's a Greddy Catback exhaust on it that was almost brand new

Really not digging the Z3 fenders....

This is one of the main reasons I got the car, it had an LS/Vtec installed in there....so I thought I got a great deal....just to find out that it smokes like a chimney....

I painted the fenders flat black, so it don't look so hidious...

So I found out that the bumper reinforcement was cut...seems like for an intercooler, so there I went hunting in the junkyard for a new one....man they not that easy to come by anymore...so after a couple weeks finally found one that was not rotted out...

I picked up a 94 LS block and outfitted it with CTR pistons and ARP rod bolts and all new seals,

CTR pistons machined the LS rods to fit the pistons..

I sold the Si wheels and got some hammers instead...looks way better IMO

I painted the LS block as well and there goes the golden eagle ls/vtec kit

looking like new..lol

I stopped taking pictures in between this time period, but here's a shot of the interior... Red carpet, reupholstered seats, stock Si steering wheel

ITR shift boot...01-05 civic floor mats

seat covers I got off Ebay...

the cargo cover was broken in 2 pieces I went to walmart and bought some small door hinges for it and fixed it...

I changed to SI wheels, liked them better with 205/50/15 Falken tires

Projector headlights with HID

All new OEM Honda door moldings and lower moldings.

I had to replace the rear bumper support too so the bumper would fit flush...since the old support was rotted out.

rust fixed! All metal!

All metal on this side too!

Genuine SI

Final result Ls/Vtec with CTR pistons B16a2 head, Golden eagle ls/vtec kit, CTR crank pulley, Greddy header, Greddy exhaust, NGK iridium plugs, Magnecore wires, Walbro fuel pump, cheapie intake, OBD1 conversion chipped and dyno tuned P28 dyno tested at 150 Hp to the wheel. 14.9 1/4 mile with traction problems and LS cable trans.
I decided to sell the car shortly after I was done because I was buying a house...but i'm planning to start an EG project soon....

Love the car, especially the color, did you use an actual honda red offered with their 1st gen CRX? It sort of looks like it.
Anyway, cant wait till the day when mine gets to that nice stage your's is at... assembled!

It's actually the red from an 08 Si 4 door, since I had a Si 4 door in Red I loved the color so much that I painted the crx the same color...good luck with your project seems like you got a long way to go..
I only sold it for $6500 needed money on my down payment for my house...but hopefully I'm getting this EG hatch soon, so that'll be a new project

Do you remember having any clearance issues with those 99-00 si rims and 205/50/15 falken tires? Like, could you crank your wheel all the way to the stops and still clear the wells... even with that little up and down suspension activity while moving?
I'm asking cause I'm giving serious thought to getting a set of those myself.
