Is my CRX rare/uncommon?
So I have this pretty tidy black 1988 ZC EF7 CRX SI glasstop and was wondering how common this car is. I have seen plenty of CRX's around but none quite like this. Fully stock BTW. What makes me ask is I havn't seen a SI with a glasstop, silkscreened rear glass, reflective logos on the side of the car and big CRX logo on the hatch glass. Also havn't seen any on these boards. Pics following.

It's level of rarity depends on where you live.
All CRX's are rare these days, they haven't made one in nearly 20 years.
Any 20 yr old car in that condition is considered rare.
It's a gorgeous car, but it would be more rare if it had the optional SIR front end fitted from the factory, which i believe was only installed on cars 1990 or later, yours looks to be 88 or 89.

See if you can find a NZ based automotive or Honda web forum. You might be able to get a better idea on a site like that since so many people here on H-T are in the US or Canada. You might have luck posting in the regional section here as well.

As mentioned, it's rare in that it is on good shape and 20 years old. Here in Canada, we have a few rhd cr-x's running around. I had a car like yours before

deetz is right we have a few rhd crxs running around canada there is 2 in my little city, mine (wanna be sir)
and a real sir. mine isnt a glass top and i havent spoked with the other jdm crx owner he hardly drives it. the glass top is a nice option i really like it and your whole car!... BTW deetz did you sell your crx to a guy in red deer?

Maybe VTEC_2ner thinks people who work at the dealership are enthusiasts like us. Sadly, I don't think they are. And I don't think they'd keep track of what Hondas are around. Most of what's on the street now is new stuff driven by people who just own it because it's reliable and gets good gas mileage. The people who eat, sleep and breath Honda make up a fairly small percentage it seems like. Even a fair amount of the guys around here have no idea about their cars.
Nice car. Not sure how rare it is in your area, as stated earlier. One bit of advice, I'd try to find some factory Honda wheels. Would really do a lot in terms of appearance and authenticity.
if you live in new zealand, its rare to have a 20 year old car.
other than that, no, it shouldnt be all that big a deal since you dont live in the US.
i dont see the point of this thread.

Im in NZ and I wouldnt call it rare, but more uncommon than anything. Its a prefacelift moonroof EF7, a very tidy one too by the looks. There are a few of these doing the rounds but I have seen more facelift versions than pfl.
We are spoilt here in NZ with japanese cars, EF7's (si) are easy to come by, genuine EF8's (sir) are almost as easy to come by too just more expensive. I got my EF7 for free 2 years ago and am looking at an EF8 that is for sale this weekend too

If you read the post above yours you'll see it seems more to do with importing vehicles after the fact.
Basically New Zealand gets "bad ***" CRXes because people ship them from Japan.
Canada gets a similar treatment.
The US doesn't so much due to laws on vehicles from other countries making it difficult and expensive to get the cars here, much less make them legal.

In the 90's it was very easy to get cars from Japan into NZ as the laws and rules were pretty relaxed and as a result we have an awesome selection of JDM imports to choose from.
