Ok, I put this thing together ages ago. It is a cable LS with GSR 4.4 + ITR LSD.
I finally got it on the road for the first time and I have everything but 3rd.
Now I've done many standards and I'm confident I would have noticed if something was wrong (like a bent fork). However, I am not ruling out doing something stupid.
It drops into 3rd just fine with the detent ball feel and does not make a sound until you let the clutch out where it makes a soft'ish grinding. I did not let it out 100%, but the first time I drove it when I thought it was ok it was nearly at that point. It wasn't a harsh noise at all. I didn't rev to find out though either.

So.. in what other ways can I have 4th with no 3rd? I would like to be able to fix this in one day as I can't leave it at the shop during the week, hence this thread.

I have found a 4.4 JDM ITR trans with a dead diff for 120. Are there any issues/incompatibilities with internals from JDM?
The extra parts and gearing options would be nice.
