Radiator Sensor Resistance values for s2000 to do swap?
hey guys,
I have two s2000's in our garage (2002 and 2009). We didn't realize Honda changed the sensor type/size on the two model s2000's and after we swapped the radiators, the sensors are now tripping the CEL
We ran the error code and it shows the sensor is at fault. Everything works but apparently the resistanace values are different. Because the sensors are different size we cannot just buy a new sensor so we're thinking of using resistors to trick the ECU.
Does anyone know the values of resistance that needs to be seen by the ECU for the two different model cars?
2002 AP1
2009 AP2
P.S. would this info be available in the shop manuals? I only have the one for the 2002 car but can someone tell me the value for the 2009?
thanks
rick

Hello, I have a 2006 s2000 that I'm rebuilding from an accident and noticed my 2005 donor part has a different temp sensor in it. I've tried to wire the 2005 sensor both ways (2 wire temp sensor) and it results in a CEL each time. If I plug in the 2006 sensor it will turn off the CEL.
Problem:
2006 radiator hole is about 1/4"
2005 radiator hole is about 5/8"
Does anyone know if there is a pipe thread fitting that I can use to step down the ~5/8" fitting to accommodate the ~1/4" fitting? My sizes are not precise, just guesses from looking at it.
Turns out the 2005 hole/fitting is a:
Komatsu Metric 18
I purchased a Male plug and then drilled and taped a hole for the 2006 m10*1.25 water temp sensor.
I did not have luck finding the fitting at the hardware store I wish I had as this would have taken less time to finish. Hydraulic supply store for the win!
