What Front Bumpers Would fit on my 88'ef hatch!?
hey whats up. i have a 88'ef hatch (dx). i recently ****ed up my front bumper tho so im on the hunt for a new one. im going to try the junk yard when i get a chance. but what year bumpers would bolt on to my hatch? i want to get the dx bumper agin. and will a 92 eg mugen lip fit that?
Im going to go with an ED, but yea any 88-89 hatchback bumper will bolt right on. 90-91 will bolt up as well if you switch out the mounts the bumper bolts on to.
hmm its a ef. whats a ed? ok kooo thanks. when i go to the junk yard is there anyway i could tell the 88-89 hatchs from the 90-91? because they all look the same lol
i think you need to look a alittle closer bud. 88-89 is def different than the 90-91. If you dont know what your looking for or what is compatable then you better just buy an 88-89 bumper. if you put a 90-91 bumper on anyway the trim will be different and wont match the rest of the car. But if you are buying a junkyard bumper Im guessing that details like that arent important to you.
And you prob have an ed not an ef. ef's are in japan. everyone on here calls their american or canadian model civics and crx's ef just for the hell of it. Just an fyi, just call it what it is, 88 or 89 civic dx, std, or si. it gets answers a lot faster and eliminates confusion

If you really need to know the differences between 88-89 and 90-91 civics try searching Google images. It takes literally 30 seconds. I don’t mean to be an a$$ but I’m not going to spoon feed you info that has been covered 1,000,000 times on here.
now for you ef, ed confused guys. Look at you vin numbers. If your car is an ef, then it will have an "ef" in your vin. if its an ed then it will have "ed" in the vin number. PLEASE SEE THE LINK BELOW before you argue with me, trust me i know what im talking about. Your american or canadian built civic or crx is not an ef.

its a lip, make it fit. its not like youre trying to put an 05 civic bumper on your 89, its just a lip, trim it, bend it, heat it...make that **** fit. A lot of guys on here use VW or volvo lips instead of honda
get a 93-97 jetta lip looks good and it sits ppretty low just have to trim the sides thats what i got on mine
and the volvo lip is tight its off of a mid 90s 740 thats the lip i want... i found one near my parents just waiting for a warm night to steal it lol or i might just ask the guy for it..
