Buy GS-R, or buy LS and swap in GS-R engine?
I live in Toronto and it's hard to find a 2000 GSR. I was wondering if its worth it to just buy a 2000 LS and swap the motor?
The outside appearance of an LS and GSR, is it noticeable? I guess what I'm asking is, is there a difference between the exterior of an LS and GSR.
I would like to be able to say I have a legit DC2 integra but its hard to find. That's why I'm considering a LS to increase my chances of finding a new ride.
Thanks.

As for your question, unless there is a large price different between GS-R's and lesser models, and you can score a GS-R engine pretty cheap, then you're probably going to be better off just waiting to find a GS-R. So much less work involved, and much more likely to have a reliable car, vs. more chances for problems if you try to swap the engine.

especially where you live. that's like jdm world. you can get a gsr engine for 1500 all day up there. probably less and that's for a 10:6-1 compression japanese one

And is that $1500 US or Canadian?
what you said can be true. all depends on what's available in his market. i know in my area SO many of the gsr's have been rode hard and put away wet. 90% of them are either on the market with too high of an asking price or because the engine is about to go. at least with an LS he can do his own build. especially if he can find a blown up car cheap. same with blown up gsr's, there was a blown 95gsr on our local craigslist for $1500 a few weeks ago. a deal like that for a complete car makes a build cheap
then again i bought a 97 gsr with 140k for $3000 so deals are out there

I got a 2000 GSR with 180K miles from original owner for $3k because it needed some work and a respray, I did the engine work myself so I think I did ok.
