Default Question on CRX engine harness

Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to read my thread. I've been having a hard time finding a consistent answer to this, so I hope someone can help. This is the first CRX iv'e ever owned so please forgive me if I'm not using all the proper terms.

Here's the sit-rep. I have a USDM 1990 CRX DX (KA5MT). I'm swapping out the original worn motor and tranny for a low mileage Japanese pull.

Here's what I have so far.

All I know about the new motor is that its a standard JDM ZC MPFI Si SOHC 16-valve out of a CRX... however I don't know which year (88 to 91) or if it even matters.

I have all the appropriate hardware for the USDM DX to JDM Si swap, like acura brakes, adapters, resister box etc.

I have a PM6 ECU out of an 88 CRX si

I have a USDM Si engine harness out of a 90 crx with 5speed manual tranny.

Heres my question..

Will the original DX upper wire harness (Part that goes through the firewall and around the dash) work ok between the pm6 and the new lower engine harness? And lastly, will my original DX gauge cluster plug in and function ok with correct readings, etc?

I'm asking because iv'e noticed that at the grounding tower (whatever its called) where the main upper and lower harness plug into each other, the DX upper harness has 2 main plugs, and the Si lower harness has 3 big plugs.

Again, thanks for the help. Very new to this.

u need to modify your dx harness from DPFI to MPFI. just buying an si harness cause it's MPFI doesn't work.

You do not need the acura hubs your hubs on the car will work fine. Also you do not need the si harness you use your dx engine harness. Only thing you need from the si engine harness is the fuel injector clips witch are the plugs with the wires coming out of them... and the plug for the resistor box. Hear is a link how todo the dpfi to mpfi swap. :Edit: you also need the. Dizzy plug from off the si harness

Someone told me that the conversion of a dx harness to mpfi is slightly different if the engine's a ZC. Does anyone know if the write-ups linked above are correct for that scenario? They didn't seem to mention it, or if they did, I didn't catch it.

It's only slightly differebtbif you will be using a dohc zc motor. I believ the cam position sensor is relocated from Inside the distributor (sohc) to the exhaust cam (dohc)

That is true I forgot to mention that my bad yes the blue/green wire and blue/yellow wire don't run to the dizzy on a zc they run to the end of the exhaust cam the cps is not located in the dizzy like other motors but beside that it is the same

I'm actually just using a SOHC ZC motor. Does that mean there wont be any differences I need to worry about?

So on a SOHC ZC does all of the wiring run the same as in the how-to? Just want to be sure before I start butchering up my two harnesses.
