I've seen them before. I'm just looking for a nice cheap setup without having to spend 3-4 hundred bones.

 

Buy a used roof rack and then get the clips that match your car. Most people here use Yakima or Thule.

That one comes with attachments to put bikes on it. You'd only need to buy the correct clips from a local Yakima supplier.
