Default Type R Water pipe difference??

Started working on putting my engine in today and i noticed the water pipes look to be different..

On my 2000 spec JDM ITR engine right above the oil filter there are two sets of hoses that loop and to the left there is a port where my hose for the heater core goes..

On my 1997 spec JDM ITR engine right above the oil filter there are two sets of hoses that loops and to the left there is not a port where my heater core goes, but i do have a port left down to the far right (at the end of the water pipe)

That's gotta be where it goes, right?

My only concern is my hose is not long enough and i'm gonna haft to get another.. im concerned about the length of the house and it possibly binding (if i get random hose from the parts store)

Would anybody happen to know what that hose is exactly called or have a part number so i might be able to go to Acura?

Any help is appreciated!!!

Thanks guys

Is it for recirculation or as a "pressure reducing" loop? I have never seen a water neck like what your talking about. Interested none the less.

I'm actually not sure, this is the first time ive ever seen a difference honestly.

You know how there's a port from the water pipe to go to the firewall? My port in the middle of the water pipe is not there on my 97 spec, but i do have a similar looking port at the end of the water pipe?

I wonder if they just moved it on those years or what. I'm lost and need some help.

My GSR water pipe has the coolant port directly in the center like you mention (its a 95' block) BUT my 93 civic DOES NOT support a hose to the firewall. I simply capped and clamped it and have had no issues. I have never owned nor worked on an Integra 94 and up, only DAs so Im not familiar with the firewall setup.

Is it a difference in OBD2-A and OBD2-B? Thats the only thing I can come up with.

Extending the hose will not hurt anything. Or if you want just use the pipe from the 97.

Is it possible they just moved the port to the far right on the 97 spec?

Thanks for the quick responses guys, hope i can figure something out.. I've gotta be back at the shop at 6am and get my car out of there.

There's a lot of different water pipe's for the B series setups. From what I know most of them all are interchangeable as well.

In this picture "not mine" there isn't even a port on the water pipe for the heater core. There is only a port for the IACV. The port for it is located on the thermostat housing.

If you feel sketchy about capping anything off, just simply T it to another coolant line. As long as you have all the coolant lines you need intact then there should be no problem at all.

You will probably have your car done by the time you get on H-T again but I will try to squeeze my digital camera underneath my PX manifold and take a picture of how mine is setup.

now rereading what you said, possibly its because the heater core will sit slightly towards the passenger side on the jdm models?

btw, the part number for the water pipe is 19505-PR3-000

Thank you all for the replies

I went ahead and just hooked it up to the port that was left on the very far end.. Everything seems to be working properly.. I did notice it doesn't seem like my heat is really hot.. It's hot just doesn't seem as hot as it used to be.. Could be cause i haven't been in it in so long.. it's been damn near 3-4 months.

The only thing i changed was i switched to Honda Type 2 coolant.. Could that have any effect?

I went out and checked my 97 JDM R motor and I can say it is definitely hooked up exactly like this illustration here. The nipples on the water pipe are for the oil cooler and the IACV. The large port on the drivers side of the thermostat housing is hooked to the heater-core (without the valve), and the passenger side port is looped back to the cylinder head.

Sorry for the misunderstanding that's the way this one is too, it's the 2000 spec that was different.. the port was actually in the middle of the water pump, just kind of confused me. everything's working now.. just need to figure out why my heat isn't as warm as it used to be.
