Are They Going to Total My Car?
Trending Topics
Depends on insursnce company for sure. My gsr got t boned like that a few years back, and got fixed, cost about 4000. The insurance co I dealt with would take repair cost right up to bluebook of the car before they deemed it totaled. I had a new outer quarter, inner quarter, bumper cover, trailing arm, hub and wheel bearing replaced, plus all the paint and body work. Also the shock tower had to be straightened, and the rear rim needed to be fixed because it had a big scratch in it.
I was on a three lane road and a driver cut me off in the middle lane and then slammed his brakes and turned left across a lane. I swtiched to the right then back to the middle. when a suv hit me while i was turning back into the middle hence the angle of the impact. Thanks everyone for the input.
Depends, there is a main frame structure that is under the Rear Floor. If that is bent and unrepairable you maybe able to get it totaled.
In order to be accurate on wheather it'll be totaled out or not, you'll need to provide some basic informatiom such as year, trim, mileage, previous accidents, condition of title, ect. Judging just off the picture I doubt it'll be a total loss, looks to be about 2-3k worth of damage, thats factoring parts, labor and paint. But you won't know for sure until the body shop starts tearing it apart.
I'd start looking for comparable cars for sale in your area. That might help raise the price they give you for your car. At least it did when I had a car totaled before.
Its a clean title, 01 gsr with 140000 no previous accidents. I have aaa mid atlantic. The one thing that worries me is the tire that got hit, it took a hard impact. It now looks to almost have a chamber. I dont know if it it has damage to the hub, axle etc. I haven't drove it above 20mph. I have a ASR subframe brace maybe that helped haha. Thanks for the help.
ok, so sounds like insurence is not going to cover it. I got quoted on 3400 dollars in damage. Its a 01 GSR with 140000miles, with springs, type r rear sway, ASR brace, intake, and partial lip kit. KBB is maybe 6000. How much do you think I can get for it? I live in a condo in the city so I have no garage, which mean parting out isn't a option. Thanks for any input.
the insurance companies usually go by the nada value, instead of the kbb value. If they're nice they will take into account the extra parts you have but its hard to say whether that will happen or not
